Article 86 empowers the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) to be the supreme judicial authority for all disputes between the UK and the EU during the transition period. The transition period is, of course, the period that would follow the UK`s withdrawal as a member of the EU, while remaining in the single market and customs union. The transition period is due to end in December 2020, but can be extended (until December 2022) provided that a joint decision is taken by July 2020. There are many other things that are appalling about the AO and the, but based on these 4 articles alone, this agreement should never be ratified. It`s not a bad deal, it`s much worse than that. They would be, in the Prime Minister`s own words, vassals. That is why the Brexit Party will not resign in its efforts to prevent ratification. 59.A broad agreement was reached between the UK and the EU on the parameters of the agreement on citizens` rights in the joint report published in December 2017. These commitments were translated into a text agreed at the level of the negotiations with the publication of the draft Withdrawal Agreement in March 2018. The November 2018 version of the law has hardly been amended and has been reproduced in full in the latest text.
However, not all issues were resolved in the manner sought by stakeholders. The Brexit Withdrawal Agreement, officially titled «Agreement on the Withdrawal of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland from the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community», was concluded on 24 March. January 2020 signed a Treaty between the European Union (EU), Euratom and the United Kingdom (UK), which sets out the conditions for the UK`s withdrawal from the EU and Euratom. According to Sam Lowe, a trade researcher at the Centre for European Reform, the change excludes labour standards from dispute resolution mechanisms. In addition, the level playing field mechanism has been moved from the legally binding Withdrawal Agreement to the Political Declaration and the line in the Political Declaration that «the UK will consider aligning itself with EU legislation in relevant areas» has been deleted. On 23 January 2020, the UK Parliament approved the draft agreement at the time by adopting implementing legislation [European Union (Withdrawal Agreement) Act 2020]. .
